ROME

We are here! Here and one piece and happy about it. There was a 24 hour adventure getting here due to a problem with the engine in the left wing on our flight from London to Rome. We were in the air and the pilot turn around and landed back in London about 30 minutes after we had taken off. There were fire engines and other emergency vehicles. But we hopped on another plane about 2 hours later and made it. We slept very well that first night thanks for Tylenol PM. We got right out of bed and started our adventure. First stop the Vatican City where we saw the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museum, Basilica St. Peter, and much more. We walked around the city for awhile and found a nice restaurant to camp ourselves at and have some drinks and some great Italian Pastas. We are now walking around checking out the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Rome's other great views, streets, and Piazzas. This first internet Cafe doesnt have access to download photos, maybe will get lucky with the next one. We are both in good spirits and taking everything all in. Last night the jet lag caught up to us a bit and we stayed awake from about 2am-5am watching TV, the BBC, before falling back asleep until the alarm woke us at 9am. It is great just hearing all the different languages around us and seeing all the diversity and excitement. We have been having an easy time getting around as most people speak some English or are good at gestures:) Prego, okay... well, time to go Ciao!
